Probably for the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema, the remake rights of a film is being sold for a massive Rs 1 Crore, which is more than half the budget of a typical Malayalam film.
Mirchi Movies has created this record.
The production company has bought the remake rights for all the Indian languages for a massive Rs 1 Crore. Officially, this is the first time that such a high amount is being paid for the remake rights of a Malayalam film.
The company is convinced that the film has immense potential to become hit in all the languages. The story of a man who ends up studying in a women's college because his mother wants him to learn a lesson or two in respecting women, has a refreshingly new appeal and gives enough possibilities to rework the screenplay.
