The BSP chief Mayawathi is a smart politician. In fact she is smarter than most people might give her credit for. She sent feelers through her emissaries to Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan to ascertain their views on joining or working along with the BSP.
She realized that the Chiranjeevi was not interested in joining the BSP nor was he ready to work with BSP. Chiranjeevi gave a clear indication through Allu Aravind that he was thinking about launching his own party.
So, Mayawathi dropped her plans to meet Chiranjeevi She also remained more or less silent about her plans for Andhra Pradesh. She also asked her party men to concentrate on increasing party strength than running after film stars.
She however drew a blank. Her visit was expected to see some big politicians lining up to join her party. But nothing of that sort happened. Even Narendra merged his small outfit but he himself has not join the party. It may be due to technical reasons, but this has left Mayawathi with nothing to show from her high profile visit to Andhra Pradesh.
