If all goes well, then Vishesh Films may soon be starting work on a biopic on the life of Pakistan's slain political leader, Benazir Bhutto. The buzz in tinsel town is that Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt have been offered the coveted project.

Mukesh Bhatt confirmed the news saying that the Pakistan People's party had approached them with the idea. The party members, apparently connect with the sensibilities of Vishesh Films and trust them to do justice to the persona of Benazir Bhutto. Bhatt attributes Vishesh Films' close association with the Pakistan film industry as the reason for the project landing at their doorstep. Vishesh Films will make the movie in association with a Pakistan-based production company.
According to Bhatt, the PPP would like the film to cover Benzair Bhutto's life from her childhood days right up to her assassination. The producer admits that the project will need a lot of research and they would need to interact closely with those who were close to the slain leader. However, the details are still being worked out but the cast and crew will consist of both Indians and Pakistanis.
It will be remembered that actress Shabana Azmi had expressed her desire to play the role of the leader. But Mukesh says that they will only start thinking about the casting once the final draft of the script is ready.
