The MIM is continuing to hit out at anyone it sees as a threat to its survival. The party has a virtual stranglehold on the old city. And as the elections to Greater Hyderabad are fast approaching, their restlessness is coming out in the form of frustration.
The left parties are slowly but surely tightening their grip on the old city. The party has made considerable inroads into the old city, the bastion of the MIM. Analysts say that if there is anyone who can take on the MIM in their backyard, it is the communist.
So MIM leaders are now trying their best to prevent people from switching over to the communists. Their attack on Taslima is also seen in this light.
