Good news for Rajini fans. Kuselan audios will hit the stacks on June 30. At a press conference held on Wednesday, P.Vasu, the director of the movie, hinted that the film will be released in the last week of July and the exact date will be announced on June 30, the day of audio release.
The highlight of the movie will be the Cinema Cinema song penned by lyricist Vaali and sung by Shankar Mahadevan. The songs are composed by G.V Prakash Kumar. Director Vasu said that he was always particular about having a song about labour like “Devuda devuda” in Chandramukhi and “Uzhaippali illaatha” in Uzhaippali in all his movies.
Similarly in this movie, the Cinema Cinema song will list the main events of 75 years of cinema. “Lyricist Vaali thanked me for giving him an opportunity to write a song about cinema,” P.Vasu said.
Kuselan is the remake of Malayalm flick Katha Parayumbol. The movie revolves around a barber and his childhood friend, who becomes an actor. Rajinikanth dons the role of actor and Pasupathi plays the barber. Meena appears as Pasupathi’s wife.
Kuselan is jointly produced by Pushpa Kandasamy of Kavithalya and Vijayakumar of Seven Arts.
The movie will be released in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. It set a record of sorts when it got insured for Rs. 70 crore.
The cast include Nayanthara, Pasupathi and Meena. Prabhu plays a prominent role in the movie. Speaking on the part played by Rajinikanth, P.Vasu said “Fans of Rajinikanth will not be disappointed. You will get to see your Superstar more in the film, unlike the Malayalam version wherein Mammooty appears only in few scenes.”
