With a fashion designer turning to Bollywood and a Bollywood star turning to fashion, this one seems like a fair bargain
‘Tis a season of firsts — both in fashion and Bollywood!
And the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week can sure be counted on to spring it’s share of surprises this year as well.
One such surprise happens to be Konkona SenSharma. The petite actress known for her powerhouse performances has taken to the ramp for the first time, for designer Arshiya Fakih.
Confirming this, Arshiya says, “Konkona will be the showstopper and I’m really excited about her making a debut on the ramp for my collection.”
Talking about convincing the otherwise media-shy Konkona, Arshiya adds, “She’s a woman of substance and truly reflects my work. Initially she was reluctant to do it, but agreed after some persuasion.”
Says Konkona, “I am nervous for sure. In fact, my first reaction was ‘No way’, but then when I saw Arshiya’s collection, I was really impressed and couldn’t refuse. I guess I should be able to do it, since I am just expected to be myself.”
And while Konkona’s set to make her debut in the fashion world joining the ranks of numerous Bollywood celebs, who’ve taken to the ramp, Arshiya’s all set to make her Bollywood debut as well. Arshiya will be designing for Konkona in her forthcoming Bollywood flick. “I am excited and looking forward to being a part of Bollywood now,” laughs Arshiya.
