Koena Mitra is flexing her muscles to take on the bad guys. And, she is leaving no stone unturned to excel in her mission.

And, naturally, since she is busy working on an international film. “It is an action film called Karna. For the role, I had to learn a bit of kickboxing, a little bit of karate and I also learnt how to use the nunchakus.” She enjoys learning something new everyday. “Each day is another opportunity for me to learn something more. For the film, I had to learn to speak with a British accent. That was something new for me,” she says.
The actor of O Saaki fame has come a long way from her first film, Musafir. And, she is looking forward to roles that allow her to widen her horizons. “I am open to whatever life gives me. I wish to do different films. A bit of comedy, a bit of drama and thrillers as well.” And, she is always ready to learn from the best in the industry.

I’m a director’s baby. I completely surrender to his vision, and understand what he wants. I rehearse in front of the director and later add my own views.” She adds, “You have to learn from criticism, and work on your limitations. I share a great rapport with my directors. I have learnt a lot from all of them.”
So, what are her plans? “I would love to do a non-commercial film. It would be a great opportunity to learn and just get a taste of it, see if I can handle it. I’m happy that I’ve come so far. Through all my trials, God has been my strength.”

Ask her whether she feels she has arrived as an actor, and she says, “That will happen in time. As I grow as an actor, each experience will make me what I am. I challenge myself everyday. To me, nothing is impossible.” And, with this kind of belief, she is sure to give us new surprises.
