Irked over the remarks made by Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Committee convener KS Rama Rao, the journalists held a meeting to condemn his attitude. The meeting was chaired by AP Press Academy chairman and president of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists Deveulapally Amar. Hyderabad Press Club secretary Suresh, Film Critics Association president Lagadapati Babu Rao, senior film journalists Gudipudi Srihari , Prabhu participated in the briefing. The meeting condemned the remarks of KS Rama Rao in unequivocal terms.
While some of them went to the extent of saying, 'The journalists are not in a position to learn from KS Rama Rao on how to write a report, how to give a headline and where to place the report. If he wants to teach such things, he could as well set up a college on his own and teach his students all that.'
Regarding the use of word 'Goonda' against senior film journalist Prabhu, the journalists demanded that Rama Rao should tender an unconditional apology. Film reporter from The Hindu Sunitha was among those who spoke on the occasion. Senior journalist Prabhu threatened that he would stage a dharna in front of Film Chamber office demanding an apology from KS Rama Rao and advised the latter to withdraw his remarks.
