Things were heating up at the Kickboxing championships held at BMC Grounds in Bandra on December 28th 2006. John Abraham was one of the chief guests along with politician RR Patil, Sachin Ahir, Aditya Panscholi and actress Needhi Gill.
Now does the name Needhi Gill ring a bell? Yes, she is the same actress who played Bipasha Basu in the film Bipasha-The Black Beauty.
It can be recalled that Bipasha Basu was sent a legal notice by Needhi for allegedly making offensive comments on her as well as the film in an interview. Bipasha had said that the film is a C-grade film with a C-grade actress in it.
At the event John simply ignored Needhi and though Needhi might have tried to woo his attention, she failed to gather any attention from John.
John instead only interacted with Aditya and politician Sachin Ahir. However Needhi Gill says, "John is a cool dude. I am sure that he recognised me because he must be aware of what has happened between me and Bipasha. We did not get to talk much but we did exchange pleasantries and he came across as a gentleman. I think John is a nice guy and I like his attitude. In spite of being such a huge star today, he is so humble and treats everyone with lots of respect."
"I don't want to comment on Bipasha but John is surely winning lot of hearts with the way he comes across to people and with his friendliness."
But did John not try to ignore her at the event?
"I am sure there must be some awkwardness but I would not lie, there was nothing of that sort from his side. We all were there for the event and everybody respected that. I don't think he tried to ignore me or anything. Like I said, he is a great guy and I really look up to him for the way he handles his success."
