Lovers John Abraham and Bipasha Basu team up for a film after three years

After nearly three years, Bollywood's golden couple John Abraham and Bipasha Basu will pair up on celluloid again. First seen together in Jism and later in Madhoshi, the duo is now set to act in director Vivek Agnihotri's forthcoming film, Goal. With the couple giving the director the green signal, speculation about their split has also been put to rest finally.

Bipasha says, "Yes. The script of Goal has been narrated to me. I am very keen to do it as the script is nice and I am fond of Vivek. However, I am yet to read the entire script and only after that will I sign the film. But yes, it is very positive and there's a definite chance that I will do the film."

Bipasha is aware that the film will generate huge hype as well as expectations. "I know that there will be lot of expectations. Since we are a real-life couple too, it is bound to happen," she says.

What took them so long to sign a film together? "We have been offered many films together but I always maintained that if we do a film now, it has to be something spectacular. I know people have been saying nasty things about us. They say that we are together only for professional reasons. But the truth is that we have hardly done anything together professionally in the last couple of years. I kept on refusing films with John... Goal seems to be the perfect film for both of us to come together. I even refused No Smoking despite Anurag Basu directing it. I would have done the film, had John not been in it. But I had decided that if I do a film with John, it has to be a really special project," she says.

What makes Goal so special? Bipasha says, "The role I have been offered is superb. The character is that of a Pakistani girl and I haven't played such a role before. I want to do different things now and I am trying my best to be selective."
