The ‘Bigg Boss’ winner on his plans of launching a spa in Australia and his reinstated identity after the show
Has ‘Bigg Boss’ really changed your life?
Definitely! I didn’t expect to stay on in the house for more than two weeks. However, God was kind to me. After the show, I felt India has accepted me with my faults and follies. It was a good platform to stand up again.
Has this success given you an edge in choosing roles?
Firstly, I don’t feel I am capable of carrying an entire film on my shoulders. But today, I am definitely in a position of advantage. If earlier, I could ask seven questions regarding a film, today I can ask 70.
What are your upcoming films?
I have two English movies—Sanjay Bhatia’s ‘Soul Rain’ and ‘Dated’. There’s also ‘Adaa’ by Tanveer Ahmed and ‘Mere Aashiq’ that should release soon. Though the concept of the latter is based on an older man and younger woman relationship, it’s a well-made film. But all these films were signed before ‘Bigg Boss’. After the show I haven’t signed any.
Whom would you like to work with now?
Talks are on with Suniel Shetty and a few others. Suniel and I started our careers pretty much at the same time. We know each other well. It’s just that we haven’t been able to work together. Also, I would love to work with Salman Khan and Arshad Warsi.
It’s said that you intend launching a spa.
Yes, I plan to open a health spa in Australia by the end of this year. I will be off to Australia to spend time with my wife Rajlaxmi. She has completed her interior designing course and is pursuing a salon management one.
Any regrets regarding your career?
I started off with a bang with ‘Ashiqui’ but since then, I have been struggling to get an identity. I signed a lot of films. I didn’t give a thought to what kind of films I wanted to be associated with and never really chalked out my career.
