The BJP and other parties like the TDP took strong objection to the welcome arches that were put up at Tirumala in connection with the Brahmothsavams. The arches look like the cross. It is in fact an exact replica of the cross. The BJP and TDP have pointed this out and have lodged a strong protest at Tirumala. The holy hills of Tirumala are out of bounds for the propagation of any kind of religious activity of other religions. Religious activity of any kind other than Hinduism is not allowed on the seven hills.
It is not clear if the TTD board had cleared the pillars designed as the cross but is sure is turning into a big issue now. People are seen commenting that Karunakar Reddy had deliberately done this to please his boss, chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy. He is seen acting as the servant of YSR and not as the servant of Lord Venkateswara Sw
