The IT department will soon introduce Iris based PAN cards in Andhra Pradesh. The IT commisoner (range 3) KK Tripathi disclosed this in Hyderabad on Monday. Accordingly all new PAN cards will be issued with the Iris feature from September 2007.
The move is an effort on the part to curb the duplication of PAC cards. Existing PAN holders can opt for the Iris cards by surrendering their old cards and they will be replaced with the new Iris card.
