Sanjay Dutt’s production company will now include wife Maanyata’s name. It is called Sanjay and Maanyata Dutt Productions
Maanyata is sure taking being Mrs Sanjay Dutt seriously. The actor’s soon-to-be-launched production company which was previously named Sanjay Dutt Productions will now be called Sanjay and Maanyata Dutt Productions.
“Maanayata wants the world to know where she fits into Sanju’s life. She has received a lot of flak from people who aren’t happy with their alliance. This is Maanyata’s message to everyone that she is here to stay. She is a positive influence in Sanju's life,” says a source.
At the time when Sanjay was toying with the idea of launching his own production company, he got busy with his sentencing and other legal hassles. In fact, Maanyata encouraged him to launch the company in the first place. Apparently, she also searched for property where Sanjay could set up his office. Now with the official launch just a couple of months away, Sanju has decided that he wants the company to be called Sanjay and Maanyata Dutt Productions.”
So is the change only limited to adding Maanyata’s name or will she be an active participant in the company? “No… not at all. Maanyata plans to be actively involved in the working of the company. Sanju expects her to run the show when he is away shooting for other films,” informs our source. “She was the one who narrowed in on two places in Bandra that can serve as the office for the company,” adds the source.
Recent buzz in the industry also suggests that Sanjay has signed close to 13 directors for various films that will be backed by Sanjay and Maanyata Dutt Productions. “The official announcement will be made in August 2008. Some of the leading directors are being approached and names like Milan Luthria and Sujoy Ghosh have already been signed on,” says a source.
When asked about the production house’s name, Sanjay’s close friend and associate Dharam Oberoi chose to remain tight-lipped about it. “I can’t say much to you at this stage. We have already signed our directors and you will know who they are once we make our official announcement in the next two months,” he says.
