Tanushree Dutta loves all the attention that she’s getting these days and she’s not denying it. The actress is being wooed by four guys... on screen of course. And with her newly-acquired hot bod, Tanushree is definitely ready to handle more attention.
But the actress has been keeping a low profile. “For the past few months, I have been working on myself. I started doing kathak and also hitting the gym more regularly. I got my personal and professional life sorted out. And the results are for everyone to see,” she smiles.
Leading a disciplined life means giving up on partying, but that’s not an issue for Tanushree. “I am not a party person. In fact I am not comfortable mingling with people I don’t know. But I can go absolutely crazy when I am with my group of friends,” she says. And Tanushree has loads of friends. “I have lived in other cities and have kept in touch with all my friends,” she points.
But there don’t seem to be too many friends in Bollywood for her. “I don’t believe in the statement that two actresses can’t be friends. It’s another thing how long the friendship lasts. But that’s not only with actresses. Tell me how many people keep in touch with all their school or college friends. It’s just like that,” she adds.
So it’s just work at the moment for Tanushree. “I loved working in Dhol . Though there were four guys I never felt out of place. There wasn’t an awkward moment on the sets. Also, I have worked with Tusshar and Sharman before so I knew them,” she says.
And Tanushree was ready for all the pranks that the four guys played on her during the making of the film. “They are very mischevious and they tried to play many pranks on me through the entire schedule, but did not succeed. On the last day they tried to anger me by irritating me. But they didn’t know about my amazing patience level. In fact, after some time they started losing their patience because I wasn’t getting angry. It was hilarious,” she laughs.
Tanushree’s enjoying her stint in Bollywood to the hilt. But if there’s one thing she’s not happy about, it’s the way people perceive an actress. “People in the industry are a little slow mentally. I often hear people saying that an actress can’t do meaningful roles because she’s a ‘glamourous actress’. Just because one’s covered from head to toe one doesn’t become a better actress. But things are changing slowly,” she says.
On the personal front Tanushree’s enjoying being single at the moment. “I am enjoying being single. There are other priorities like my work and family that are more important to me right now,” she concludes.
