“I am very superstitious when it comes to talking about my future projects. Somehow, I consider it as bad omen,” says Tanushree Dutta as we catch up with the Bengali damsel on what is keeping her busy these days.
However, she adds that it’s much more than just superstition. It’s the overdose of scrutiny that she is trying to avoid.
“The moment I speak of my next movie, I am flooded with special gyan from people on how the role is either not suited to me or that I should have done something else. I am sick of those who feel it’s their duty to analyse every step I take in my career,” she explains.
She continues, “The truth is, I take every decision by gut. And thankfully, till date, I haven’t felt sorry for any of the decisions that I have taken.”
Though her upcoming movie ‘Dhol’ is a comedy with four guys chasing Tanushree, she says, “I didn’t get an opportunity to indulge in hard core comedy in this movie.
However, I would love to do it in my future projects. The kind of enthusiasm that these guys had was amazing. It’s true that comedy is all about timing and it teaches you many other aspects of acting as well.”
So, was it fun working with the gang of boys? “It was great fun since I had actually worked with some of them before as well. I was treated as one of them. They tried their level best to play pranks on me but it never worked. After all, even I can get wicked at times,” she says with a smile.
Merely two years in tinsel town, Tansuhree feels she is still learning about the functioning of the industry and the roles that she wants to pursue.
“I am still testing waters. I don’t have a strategy or a plan of action. It is true that women tend to get typecast if they come with a glam image. It was rather a put off when I came in. But now I have learned to ignore it,” she ends.
