2006 was the year of many high-profile H'wood visits to B'wood and India. It's the year they all got a taste of India.

February on, Bollywood stars poured into the country, starting with Hollywood actor Will Smith, who came to India on a five-day trip.

He was here to launch Sony Television’s movie channel Sony Pix, but by the end of the trip, he told the media that he felt there was a marriage to be made between Hollywood and Bollywood.

He made it a point to sightsee around the country a little and met up with Bollywood stars like Fardeen Khan , Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

If that was with the men, he caught up with the ladies as well. He presented the Best Actress award to Rani Mukherjee at an award function and also caught up with Aishwarya Rai and discussed the proposal of working together in a movie.

February was not without Britney’s Indian touch. Reports claimed Britney Spears was seen praying at a Hindu Temple in Malibu.

With her forehead smeared with vermillion, Britney and her then four-month-old son Sean Preston prayed and sat through elaborate rituals during the religious ceremony.

The year wouldn’t be complete without taking into account the high-profile Hollywood visit gone awry. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie managed to kick up quite a storm in the country, with the media close on their heels during every minute of their visit to Pune, Jodhpur and Mumbai.

The couple was here to shoot for the movie A Mighty Heart starring Dan Futterman and Angelina, produced by Pitt’s company Plan B.

Though their month-long visit went off relatively smoothly, controversy spewed towards the end of their visit when during a shoot in a Mumbai school, Angelina’s bodyguards were alleged to have made racial remarks against Indians and Muslims.

Towards the end of the year, reports stated that The Pianist-star Adrien Brody was visiting Rajasthan to shoot for director Wes Anderson’s movie The Darjeeling Limited. He was reportedly accompanied by Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman.
