Hema Malini has two passions: acting and dancing. And it was dancing - classical dancing, at that - that she recently celebrated at an auditorium in Juhu, Mumbai.
This annual festival of dance - 'Jaya Smriti' - that is held in the memory of her mother Jaya Chakravarti, is also a means to give a platform to young and upcoming classical dancers from across the country. Enjoying the kuchipudi, kathak and bharatnatyam performances were guests of honour Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
Both seemed engrossed in the dance moves while the show was on, and clapped loudly at the performances, but once the lights came on, the two were seen indulging in some light banter, whispering into each other's ears, wide smiles on their faces. Female bonding continued on stage as Hema's daughter Ahana warmly greeted Jaya.
While in the audience, Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan were spotted bonding. Is dancing the new universal language of love?
