London: The dream boy of the 70s is now telling us to follow our dreams.
Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor's latest offering is a small budget English film called Don't stop Dreaming, directed by his cousin and director, Aditya Raj Kapoor.
The film is about a Birmingham-based young girl, played by British television star Michelle Collins, who dreams of being a singer. She forms a band with her other friends, much against her parents' wishes.
Rishi Kapoor plays Michelle’s father, who was once a musician himself.
“All the youngsters in the film are of different nationalities. They want to create one single sound. That’s what caught my fancy. It shows that they are working towards a common goal and bring the point home that children shouldn’t stop dreaming,” says Rishi Kapoor.
The only other big familiar star of the film is Suniel Shetty. The film opens in the US, Canada, and the UK on Friday and is expected to release in India and Pakistan next month.
But when the director of the film was asked if the film is too British for the Indian audience, Aditya Raj said, “It's a musical with104 minutes of cineplex time and it’s English language. I feel it should have an audience for these kind of films.”
Another good news is that Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir makes his debut in Saawariya later this year.
And when asked whether the golden couple of yesteryears (Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh) would consider a comeback together, Rishi said, “Why won't we consider. We are actors."
