 Dileep starrer Calcutta News has in the news even before its production started last summer. It was earlier thought that the movie may clash with Romeo , Dileep"s Christmas release. However, the movie further got delayed and is now slated for release on January 18. Romeo , directed by Blessy and produced by Thampi Antony, is based on the changes that takes place in the life of a television programme producer-reporter named Ajith Thomas (Dileep), when he meets a girl named Krishnapriya (Meera Jasmine). Well in Kerala, July 4 is the day when Malayalam star Dileep releases his film! It is his lucky date, as all his comedy films released on that day have been big hits like C.I.D Moosa and last year’s Chess etc. Dileep is not bothered whether that day is a Friday or a working day, he has released it even o more Rajasenan-to-direct-Dileep  The super hit director of the yesteryears, Rajasenan has secured the dates of Dileep for his next venture. The director will have the scripts of Rafi -Mecartin for this new film, which is planned as a Christmas release of 2007. But Dileep, whose career has got another jump with the great run of Vinodhayathra, has a number of films in hand before attempting the Rajasenan flick. Presently he is working with the ace director Joshy for the film July 4, scheduled to get released on July 4. Dileep is playing the central character in the new film directed by ace director Siddhique, titled 'Body Guard'. This is the first time Dileep is teaming up with Siddhique more Dileep-starrer-gets-good-opening  Dileep's last film, July 4, released on July 5, failed at the box office and he did not have any release for almost five months now. As such, Dileep had high expectations from his recently released Romeo. Romeo, a slapstick entertainer directed by Rajsenan and scripted by Rafi Mecartin, had a good opening. Dileep plays a home male nurse and Vimala Raman, Samvrutha Sunil and Shruthi Lekshmy play the female leads. They were shooting a song for Joshy's new film July 4. The song written by Shibu Chakravarthy- Kattupoocha kurumbi, karinakkukari kurumbi….., sung by Afsal and Sayonnara, tuned by Ouseappachan, is said to be the hit number in the album. There are four songs in the album, which have been shot in exotic locations of Kerala and Pondy. July 4 is a romantic, action adventure film. Dileep plays a taxi driver who works as a more Dileep-returns!!!  After a gap of more than five months, Dileep is now ready with his new release. On the 5th of July, his 'July 4' was released. The film drew mixed results at the box office and turned out to be a very forgettable average grosser. Since then, there haven't been any new releases for the actor. But, on the 20th of December, Dileep and his fans will breathe a sigh of relief because his new film hits the theatres that day. No, it is not going to be 'Kolkotta News'.
