Dileep's last film, July 4, released on July 5, failed at the box office and he did not have any release for almost five months now. As such, Dileep had high expectations from his recently released Romeo

Romeo , a slapstick entertainer directed by Rajsenan and scripted by Rafi Mecartin, had a good opening. Dileep plays a home male nurse and Vimala Raman , Samvrutha Sunil and Shruthi Lekshmy play the female leads. The release of the film, a week ahead of the other three big releases (Flash, Katha Parayumbol and Kangaroo), will help the movie to make good collections.

The latest buzz is that Dileeps already delayed venture Calcutta News, directed by Blessy, may also be released this month.

It was not a great year for Malayalam and Bengali films with big projects falling by the wayside 2007 was for Malayalam Cinema much alike 2006. Nothing spectacular to mention. Of about 63 films released this year, there were only a few that could be called big hits. Most of them were misses, with some just managing to be average grossers. And yet another thing that was conspicuous was that both the superstars; Mohanlal and Mammootty maintained their supremacy and not another star could make it to the big league. Of co more
