The news of Dasari Narayana Rao launching a TV channel is not new. The congress party has not received the move with great enthusiasm. The congress leaders say that the real aim of Dasari is not to push the congress party ideology thorough his channel but to push his own agenda and increase his clout as a media baron.
Dasari has big ambitions and wants to be known as the sole representative of his community. But there are far too many aspirants and groups within his community.
At best, Dasari can command the loyalty of one group and it would account to about 20 per cent of the people from his community. By launching his own TV channel, Dasari wants to increase his bargaining power among the other groups.
