The congress party took stock of the situation over the latest threat of the TRS. The TRS gave indications that the party MLAs and MLCs would quit their membership and that MPs will resign on February 15. The congress party is not yet all perturbed over the issue. It has now decided to brazen it out.
The TRS wanted to put pressure on the congress party after the senior pro-Telangana leaders of the congress who went to Delhi returned empty handed.
The TRS game plan is that the EC would conduct re-elections to the vacant seats and the TRS will win with bumper majority.
The congress party has now decided to take the TRS head on. The congress will put up strong candidates and is also confident that it would bag some seats and also dent the image of KCR along the way.
But the latest reports suggest that the TRS is likely to keep the resignations issue on hold till the budget session of Lok Sabha.
