The attack by Chiranjeevi fans on Rajashekar and Jeevitha has now acquired a political colour. Congress leaders were quick to seize the opportunity. They came to the defense of Rajashekar in a big way. Leaders like Danam Nagendar, V Hanumantha Ro, Sudhakar Reddy and others said that they would not tolerate if such attacks against Rajashekar or anyone else continued. They took this opportunity to paint Chiru black. The leaders also justified their defense of Rajashekar by saying that he was a congress party sympathizer and hence, the party would stand by him

Meanwhile the BJP too seized the opportunity and came out in strong support of Chiranjeevi The party's national executive meeting is in progress in Delhi. The party has included the issue of joining hands with Chiranjeevi's party on its agenda. Leaders like Bandaru Dattatreya and Bangaru Lakshman came out in strong defense of Chiranjeevi They said that Rajashekar should not have uttered such words against Chiranjeevi.
