There has always been a competition among the Bollywood stars, but probably it has been a healthy and positive struggle or mild opposition.
The competition between Kumars and Kapoors has been prominent in the past but now the trend has changed to Khans.
Lately, it looks to have shifted to Akshay Kumar , one of the most popular both at home and abroad and even the Bollywood has put him at the top.
He can be compared even with Shah Rukh Khan now but some say that Akshay has surpassed all.
The Industry has an eye his signing a four-film bulk deal with Adlabs Films, in which Reliance Captial has a 51 per cent stake, it is a great news for Akshay's fans.
This is Bollywood's first bulk-deal involving an actor, though Yash Raj Films had signed multiple deals with promising directors. Adlabs has a 12-film deal with producer-director Ram Gopal Varma.
A bulk deal has its own advantages - the security of a big, steady income to creative people who are ready to offer preferential dates in bulk.
Of course, there is considerable risk too. But what if a star, who signs a bulk deal, suffers two or three flops in a row and his box-office lure goes down?
A legitimate question, but Bollywood producers are confident that Akshay can deliver the goods. He has the experience, has risen from the ranks and can handle action roles better than most. Today, the star is on a high. An actor becomes truly saleable when he excels both in action and comic roles.
