Nayantara and Mamta have one thing in common- They are Mallu girls. While Nayantara is one of the top actresses in Tamil and Telugu, Mamta is yet to make a mark in both the languages. The buzz is that the pretty young girl is too snooty and has an attitude problem.
Last week, Nayan after completing a song picturisation in Cairo, was returning back to Hyderabad along with Telugu hunk Prabhas and the rest of the unit in Qatar Airways flight. After the aircraft landed at Doha, the capital of Qatar, enroute to Hyderabad, Mamta joined and plunked herself next to Nayan in the Business Class.
Remember Mamta’s parents are in Bahrain and she was on a holiday there. Now she was going to Hyderabad for the audio release function of NTR’s Rakhi After the flight took off from Doha, Mamta did not care to speak or acknowledge the presence of Nayantara sitting next to her!
No word was uttered between the two during the four hour flight! During the in-flight service, Mamta accidentally spilled water on Nayan and muttered “Sorry”, no other word was exchanged as both looked through each other!
When the flight landed at Hyderabad airport, Nayan was virtually besieged by autograph hunters and customs men who exchanged pleasantries with her. Later to rub it in at the baggage clearance hall, Mamta went up to her and told that she did not recognize Nayan “without make-up”!!
Nayan the cool cat that she is, just gave her a dry smile and walked away as the crowds at the airport was all in awe of her! In an industry which is tradition bound, an upcoming actor is expected to go up and introduce herself to a senior star.
