About a year ago, Padhmapriya decided to make an entry in Tamil. But she chose a very wrong type of film to make her debut in. The film was very good, but she had played the role of a mother of two school-kids in it. Since it was her first film in Tamil, she ended up having to deal with the image.
She is now desperately trying to recreate an image.
'Mirugam' is the name of the film. This time, she plays the role of a wife who ends up completely revamping her image in order to bring her promiscuous husband back home. The director claims that it is a film to spread AIDS awareness. A newcomer is playing the role of her husband.
In the film, there is a scene in which she tries to seduce her husband, Padhmapriya argued that she was not told about such a scene, but the director differed with her on that. She was worried that the film might end up looking like cheap sleaze stuff.
She left the shooting spot angrily. The film came to a grinding halt for two days. The director then came forward to negotiate with her and finally they reached a compromise. Shooting started again.
The film is almost ready and Padhmapriya says that she is happy with the results.
