Chiranjeevi after visiting the weavers in Siriclla last week no turned his attention to the people displaced by the setting up of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Poelpally near Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district.
Chiranjeevi met the poor lambadas and farmers whose lands have been acquired for the setting up of the SEZ. The affected people said that the government only acquired the lands of the poor and did not touch the lands of the rich and influential. The promise of giving jobs to the affected is also a mere eye wash, they said. The compensation given by the government was also very meager – 16 thousand rupees per acre.
Chiranjeevi promised to study their problems and see that they get justice. Chiranjeevi asked them to wait for some more time and that he would find a solution.
