Chiranjeevi faced a setback when the panel backed by him in the MAA elections failed to win even one post. The elections to the MAA committee were held on Sunday. The panel backed by the TDP won the post of the president as well as other posts.
Murali Mohan defeated the Chiranjeevi backed candidate Vijaya chandar managed to get only 116 votes aginst 244 polled to Murali Mohan. Similarly for the post of General secretary, Chiranjeevi backed candidate Ayyappa P Sarma managed only just 99 votes while the wining candidate Ahuthi Prasad bagged 240 votes.
All the candidates backed by Chiranjeevi who contested for the Executive committee posts failed to get even their security deposits.
It may be noted that Allu Aravind lost in the elections to the Film Chamber last month.
