The fans of megastar Chiranjeevi attacked actor Rajashekar at Punjagutta this morning. The shocked actor had great difficulty in getting away from the menacing crowd. The fans attacked the car with rods and other deadly weapons. Rajashekar and his daughter Shivani were injured in the attack. Shivani was admitted to Apollo hospital where she was treated for injuries and later discharged. The mob attacked Rajashekar and Jeevitha when they were coming in a train. The first attack took place at Guntur railway station. Later they faced an attack at Secunderbad railway station. The attack by Chirnjeevi fans is over a comment made by Rajashekar yesterday. Rajashekar responded to a question by a reporter at Bhimavaram. Rajashekar said that Chiranjeevi does not have any political experience. He also said that in a democracy everyone had a right to start a political party. But it did not mean that just because he happens to come from the film industry, everyone from the film industry should back him blindly. The NBW was issued after they failed to appear in court. The case pertains to the recent incident in which the car of actor Rajashekar was chased by some fans of Chiranjeevi and was pelted with stones. Rajashekar, his wife Jeevitha and their two daughters were travelling in the car when the attack took place. The way Naga Babu reacted to the issue only shocked people further. Nagababu said that the attack was not an act of Chiru fans. His logic is that they may be some 'unregistered' fans of Chiru. Nagababu said that Chiranjeevi fans are very disciplined and calm. Going by Nagababu's statement, it appears that they are maintaining two sets of fans. One fan group will organize all charitable events alike voluntary blood donation camps, eye donation camps, health checkups etc. The other group will be handy to settle political sores. But the police have not yet succeeded in nabbing even a single culprit. The police have evidence by way of videotapes but even then, they say that they are yet to verify their identities. Seven fans of Chiranjeevi who were involved in the attack on Rajashekar and his family surrendered before the police last evening. The police have now realized that some of them are fake fans.
