It seems Britney Spears has become a little Toxic - the pop diva has accused her mother of sharing bed with her new paparazzo boyfriend.
Spears, who suffers from bipolar disorder, was rushed to the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Thursday after she took a cocktail of drugs over three sleepless nights.
She was sedated after she hurled abuse at medics and mom Lynee, accusing her of "sleeping with my boyfriend" the media quoted hospital sources as saying.
The pop princess, a divorcee who is currently dating Birmingham photographer Adnan Ghalib, had earlier alleged that her mother became too close to her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Britney has been effectively sectioned by doctors who ordered her into the hospital's psychiatric ward for a minimum 72 hours.
"Britney's behaviour became really frightening. She flew into a manic phase. She hadn't slept for more than 60 hours and had been staying awake with prescription pills and Red Bull.
"She was pale, shaking, and talking to herself in her strange British accent. We tried to give her sleeping pills to calm her down, but they didn't work," one of Spears' friends was quoted as saying.
