Boney Kapoor reportedly bought the Hindi remake rights of Telugu blockbuster Pokiri at a fancy price of Rs 75 lakhs. It is surprising that the same rights for the Tamil film were sold at Rs 1.35 crores.
Earlier, rumours were agog that Ramgopal Varma had bought the remake rights, but it was proved that they were not with him any more. Another interesting feature is that the Tamil version, directed by Prabhudeva also received a similar response in Tamil also, with Vijay playing the hero.
