Pooja Bhatt is set to direct Jism 2, but without John and Bipasha

Pooja Bhatt will remake John Abraham-Bipasha Basu starrer, Jism. A stormy love story, in which Bipasha played a vamp, the film was a hit in 2003. Not only a re-make, apparently, the producers Pooja Bhatt and Sujit Kumar Singh are planning a series on Jism - Jism 2, Jism 3 and so on.

Pooja Bhatt, will direct Jism 2. Though currently in Jordan, where she is directing Kajra Re, she has already done the prep work for her the film. Jism part-1 was directed by Amit Saxena. However, both John and Bipasha will not be part of Jism 2.

According to an insider, “Pooja and Sujit want to make Jism into a brand. There is a strong likelihood of Jism 3 and 4 also.” Pooja’s father, Mahesh Bhatt confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Pooja will make Jism 2. She may start this film by end of this year.”

But why not John and Bips considering they sizzled in Jism. Mahesh explained, why not. He said, “John and Bipasha die in the original Jism, so how can they be part of Jism 2? We will be looking at fresh faces in the age group of 20.”

Shagufta Rafique, writer of Woh Lamhe and Dhoka, is writing Jism 2. Shagufta chipped in, “I am very excited about this project. We will get actors as sexy as John and Bipasha.”

Is it true that Jism 2 is inspired by the Neeraj Grover murder case? Mahesh elaborated, “Well, Shagufta brought in the idea after Neeraj Grover was murdered.

Sujit’s brother, Sheel, knew Neeraj personally, but let me make it clear that Pooja is not repeating the Neeraj-Maria story.

Yes, it will be modelled around love and lust, but we will focus on the youngsters today who are caught in the web of heart and body. The film will be a bold statement on sexuality and morality.”
