Billa’s world premiere! The last time you heard that was for Madhavan’s Evano Oruvan, then again those were only previews. This time around we are talking about premieres. Ajith’s most talked about film ever is hitting the screens on the December 14, 2007, a couple of days later than planned.
It was planned earlier to release it on the December 12, 2007 to coincide with Rajini Kanth’s birthday as they felt it would be appropriate to release the remake of his yesteryear blockbuster on his birthday. Delay in post-production and other technical works had forced them to postpone the release to December 14, 2007. However, as per Ajith’s specific request, the movie will be premiered on December 12, 2007 at Sathyam Theater, Chennai, in which the superstar will be the guest.
Ajith said that he would dedicate the film to the superstar and hence insisted that the premiere be held on his birthday for which the producer and director immediately acquiesced. In fact, they have even arranged an international premiere for the film in the UK and Malaysia on December 13, 2007. Nayanthara who plays the heroine in the film will attend the UK premiere while Namitha who also features in the movie will attend the Malaysian premiere. Ain’t this proof enough that Tamil films are going global? Bollywood watch out!
