You have loved troubling her, just like you've loved pleasing her. She has often embarrassed you with her concern and has her share of mood swings and outbursts. And yet, you know she is the best screen mom.
After cameos and supporting lead actors with her mommy act, Kirron Kher is formally establishing her status in Bollywood by playing the title role in Mummyji, a film directed by Pammi Somal.
And those present at the muhurat of the film unanimously agreed on why Kher is the new face of the Bollywood mother. "Especially after KANK, you see her as a modern mum. It is the new set of moms who don't just make halwa for the kids, they want to have a life, they want to have fun," says actor Raveena Tandon.
Others actors like Jackie Shroff too had a word of praise for Bollywood's big momma: "Besides being a great lady and a great actress, she's got lots to give and a person who gives a lot without expecting anything is the epitome of motherhood."
And the real and reel-life mother has tips for other mums on how to get a life: "Don't just stop living your lives only because you have kids, you are individuals too."
Here's to new-age moms, and no prizes for guessing when this filmi ode to mothers will be released. "On Mothers' Day because moms are the most precious thing in the world," says the director of Mummyji, Pammi Somal.
