Batukamma festival, which is quite popular among the Telangana region, would be the theme for a film 'Batukamma' to be jointly produced by Ponugoti Saraswati Rammohan Rao and Dr Vanaja Chandrasekhara Rao on the banner of Kakatiya Films.
T Prabhakar, who had earlier directed films like 'Rendilla Pujari, Dear Brother, Kishkinda Kanda and Meenakshi' is directing this film. The film deals with the Telangana armed struggle, the lifestyle and living conditions of the people of Telangana then and now, the culture and tradition of the region and other such issues.
The film would go to sets very soon. Lyrics are by Gorati Venkanna, Guda Anjaiah, Andesri, Nagapuri Rajamouli and Chaitanya. Dr T Rajeswara Rao is presenting the film.
