The TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh, and some others were taken into custody in New Delhi this afternoon. The leaders of the third front UNPA were planning to stage a dharna near Jantar Mantar to press their demands for farmers.
As some of the agitating members tried to race towards Parliament, the police took them into custody. There are prohibitory orders in force around Parliament. The TDP and SP have taken strong objection to this. They have demanded the immediate release of their leaders. The leaders state that they were protesting silently when the police swooped down on them and arrested their leaders.
