Actress Ayesha Takia is all set for the release of her forthcoming film 'Dor' directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, where she breaks her glamourous mould to play a very de glamourised role.
She made a disastrous debut with 'Tarzan', a thriller directed by Abbas Mastan which bombed at the box office. Nevertheless, the actress was noticed as producers flocked to her door step. However, despite having big banner films under her belt, the reality is that the bubbly actress does not have a single hit to her credit.
The actress though is rather upbeat about the kind of roles being offered to her, "I have never really thought on doing a particular kind of cinema. If you look at the kind of films I have been doing lately, it has been a mixed bag. There is a Salaam-e-ishq, then Yun hota to kya hota and off late Dor. I do not want to slot myself."
Despite her professional career doing pretty well, her personal life seems to be getting her producers worried. There are rumours of an impending marriage to long time boyfriend Farhan Azmi. When probed, Ayesha prefers to laugh off the rumours, "My family members and I have been laughing off the rumours. We just fail to understand where do these rumours originate? However, it is also good in a sense that people realize how serious we are and we do plan to tie the knot some time later. But definitely not in the near future as I am not mentally prepared for it."
This girl next door is now surely anticipating a Friday which will give her that one elusive 'hit' and establish her as a commercially saleable actor.
