While filming a train sequence for Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dor, Ayesha Takia fell beside the tracks. For a moment, the film unit thought she was dead!

Bollywood actors performing deadly stunts sans body doubles is becoming common these days. In keeping with this trend, Ayesha Takia agreed to perform a daring stunt in her forthcoming film, Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dor. However, the actress met with a near fatal accident while shooting in Rajasthan.

“We were shooting at Jisamgarh in Rajasthan. It was a train sequence and Ayesha had to run alongside the train. She was running on the platform and Nagesh was inside the train with his camera and monitor. Suddenly, we couldn’t see Ayesha any more. And Nagesh looked as if he was going to have an heart attack, because we all thought that Ayesha must have come under the train,” says Elahi, the executive producer of Dor.

It took some time for the unit members to halt the train and trace Ayesha. “Ayesha had fallen from the platform and she was very close to the tracks. We thanked our luck that she was alive, although she was badly hurt,” says Elahi. The actress was shocked and couldn’t talk for some time. “While running beside the train, Ayesha failed to see a pipe that was in her way. She toppled over the pipe and fell down,” says Elahi. Ayesha plays the role of a rural, married woman in the film, whose husband dies. The film also stars Shreyas Talpade.

When contacted Ayesha said, “My God, that was a really scary incident! The shooting was being done at a village platform, which was as good as plain land. I was running on the platform and all of a sudden I lost my balance and fell. I was terrified when I saw the train moving by me fast, as I rolled on the ground. Immediately, Nagesh and Elahi ran to rescue me. Nagesh said that he wanted to jump out of the window to save me! I got some bruises. Later, I took an injection and began shooting again.”
