The taste of the audience is slowly changing. After being fed on syrupy love stories for years and years, the films with a novel theme are being received well by the audience.
The audience is welcoming with open arms even small budget films with lesser-known star cast.
The Charmy starrer Manthra was a big hit. Despite having a not so big starcast, the film directed by Tulasiram is a hit and the film has just crossed 50 days run successfully.
Anasuya with Bhoomika in the title role is a murder mystery. This film too has been received well by the audience. Allari Ravi Babu directed this film and he also played a prominent role in the film. Anasuya has completed 50 days and it still continues to be exhibited successfully.
The recent release Visakha Express starring Rajiv Kanakla and Allari Naresh is also a murder mystery with a racy screenplay. The film lacks the usual masala elements in respect to the other regular films but the film has also attracted a reasonably good response.
