Ashmit Patel seems to be following Aamir Khan’s footsteps currently. The actor has signed a period film called The Flag. The film is set in 1940’s, during the British Raj period and will be shot in Bhuj, the location where Lagaan was shot. The film will be directed by Sajiv Balath, who is a documentary filmmaker.
Talking about the film, Ashmit says, “It is a serious film based in the 1940’s. The story is about a village called Kanakpur which is pretty much cut off and oblivious from happenings in the country. The British then arrive and how things change in the village.” In the film, Ashmit plays the role of a patriotic character named Deva He will be seen in dhotis and other traditional Indian wear of that time in The Flag.
The cast and the crew of the film went to Bhuj yesterday and the shooting for the film starts today. The film stars Rahul Dev, Vijay Raaz, Milind Soman.
