 This is the first time that a director has had to order his producer to get off the sets. During the shooting of Anil Kapoor's Gandhi, My Father, star-struck crowds in Ahmedabad went berserk and disrupted the shooting. Apparently Anil, in his new-found role of producer, tried to control the crowd but only managed to make matters worse. Director Feroz Abbas Khan had no other option but to order him to leave the sets. Huge crowds had already made shooting very difficult. The first day of shoot went in trying to control the crowd. Anil then landed on the sets and tried to help in controlling the crowd. But he only ended up drawing more crowds, which had the director fuming. Apparently, while the director was shooting a scene in sync sound, the crowds started shouting out Anil name. A miffed director then ordered Anil to leave the sets immediately. So Anil found himself confined to his hotel room for five days following the incident.
