 Amitabh Bachchan's mother Teji Bachchan passed away on Friday. She was 93. She had been ailing for over a year, and was admitted at Lilavati hospital in Bandra, a western suburb of Mumbai. In November, she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital after her condition became serious. Amitabh was very close to his mother and she was a pillar of support for the Bachchan family. One of the first things Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai did after they got married was visit her at the hospital. Teji Bachchan was an important part of the Big B's professional life as well. For instance, in the original script of Coolie, Amitabh's character was supposed to die. But she requested director Manmohan Desai to change the ending.
