Superstar Akshay Kumar had made a promise to himself while shooting his film Namastey London in Punjab.
While shooting in village Ranjitpura on the outskirts of Chandigarh, Akshay and filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah had noticed that most of the kids from the village work in the fields. Moreover, the school hardly had any amenities.
And since the people of Ranjitpura were very friendly and helpful to the film’s unit, Akshay had then made a promise to himself to build a school in the village one day.
Today, Akshay is the most bankable star in Bollywood and makes whopping amounts of money (don’t ask how much). So he wants to give back to the people of Ranjitpura. And what better way to do that than to fulfill his promise and build a school for village kids.
Akshay has reportedly been in negotiations with the village folk and local authorities to complete all the necessary formalities for the school.
The superstar is presently shooting his film Kambakht Ishq in the US. He will soon return India to promote his upcoming film Singh Is Kinng .
After that he will go ahead with the school project.
Hail Akshay, he’s the king.
