Oscar award winner AR.Rehman once agin bagged two more awards in Film fare awards for his excellent composing in the film “Jaane tuu” and award for best background score for the film “JodhaAkbar”. The film Jodha Akbar made a clean sweep with Best Movie,Director,Acotr,Lyrics, and back ground score awards.

    Film-Fare-Awards-function-in-Hyd




    The 56th annual Idea Film Fare awards 2008 function will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Hyderabad on July 31. The gala function will be attended by the who’s who of south Indian cinema.

    The awards in various categories like best actor, best actress, best film and best director, best music director etc. from south Indian cinema will be presented on the occasion.

    Hike-in-RTC-Bus-Charges


    The ongoing bandh and arson during the month long agitations put the RTC on anvil to be sledged with heavy losses. Obviously, RTC is ready to transfer the losses to people who have pushed it out of gear. RTC has announced hike in the fare for its various services. The new fares will come into effect from tomorrow itself.

    RTC was obliged to hike in the fare affecting from tomorrow onwards. It has announced the fares for its various services as follows:
    Minimum 8NP to maximum 25NP/Km will be levied on various services.

    The 54 th Filmfare Awards for Tamil films were announced through the popular FM station Radio Mirchi.     Dasari-awards-announced



    Dasari Narayana Rao has instituted awards for Best Director, Best New Director and Best Journalist. The Dasari Awards as they will be known have been announced for the year 2008. The Best Director award goes to Krish of Gamyam fame.

    The Best New Director award will be conferred on Srikanth Addala for Kotha Bangaru Lokam. Senior film journalist BA Raju has been chosen for the Best Journalist award. The awards will be presented at a function to be held on Dasari’s birthday on May 4.      &nbs more

    The Film Fare awards function was held at a glittering function in Hyderabad on Sunday. The who’s who of south Indian cinema was present at the awards function. Big B Amithab Bachahan, Abhisekh, Aishwarya were the star attraction. Chiranjeevi and Mammootty were honored with the title Legends on the occasion.

    The one star who was most conspicuous by his absence was Pawan Kalyan. It is well known that he is battling a court case and this is being cited as the reason for his not appearing in public.

    Mathrubhumi-Film-Awards-2007-announced



    The Mathrubhumi-P.S.S. Film Awards 2007 have been announced.

    The Tamil movie Pokkiri has been judged as the best film and its director Prabhudeva as best director.

    Nayantara has been selected as best actress for her performance in the Tamil film E and Vijay, the best actor for Pokkiri.

    Awards for the best director and actors carry a cash award of Rs.50,000 each and the best film Rs.1 lakh.

    Bachchan-family-boycott-Awards-Function-



    Big B Amitabh Bachchan and his family members decided to boycott the Film Fare Awards function to be held in this year, in protest against the false news published against Aishwarya Bachchan stating that she is suffering with stomach tuberculosis disease and hence not able to conceive a baby till now.

    British Academy announced seven awards under different categories to Indian film Slum Dog Millionaire. American writer’s guild also announced an award for the film. The film which already bagged ten nominations for the Oscar and four global awards under different categories is now awarded for Best Picture, Direction, Music, Sound editing, Cinematography, and Screen play by the British Academy.

    The film got appreciation and faced a strong criticism from the Indian community.
