![]() After watching Priya Mani in 'Paruthiveeran,' everyone predicted that she would win the best actress award. That has now come true. Priya Mani started out with Bharatiraja and got shaped up as an actress under Ameer and Balu Mahendra. What was different for her in 'Paruthiveeran' is, she spoke in her own voice. Apart from getting the Tamilnadu govt award as well as other awards, it was expected that she also stood a good chance to win the National Award. That expectation has not gone for waste and she figures in the list announced for the 54th national awards. When asked about her award, Priya Mani brims with happiness. "Those who saw 'Paruthiveeran' congratulated me and said I would surely get awards for my acting. Now that I really have, my happiness is a hundred fold. From the time I got the news, I've been rather nervous. My thanks go out to director Ameer. The credit also goes to Bharatiraja for introducing me and to Balu Mahendra. By receiving the National Award, my responsibility and duty has increased. I will continue to do meaningful roles to show I deserve this award," said Priya Mani with joy. Congratulations, Priya Mani!
