Whether it is a book release function or film pooja function, Khushboo has to create a storm.
In the book release function of Senthilnathan's book 'Aayi' that was held at the Don Bosco complex, the special invitee was Khushboo. Other invitees were Poet Arivumadhi and Thol Thirumavalavan. As Thirumavalavan stood up on the podium to speak, every one except Khushboo stood up. As this irritated Thirumavalavan's followers, there was unrest.
When Khushboo began her speech, she bowed before Thirumavalavan as she said, "I did not notice the entry of Thirumavalavan. That is why I acknowledged him now. Otherwise, they would create another unrest for that." That created some more disturbances.
After Khushboo, Arivumadhi who had already finished her speech, got up to the mike and said "Khushboo ought to have acknowledged Thirumavalavan who is struggling for the cause of the neglected people".
Khushboo's retort "I know whom, when and where to acknowledge" restarted the tension with the crowed. Thirumavalavan, on his part added that they were not agitating against Khushboo, but her ideas only.
Khushboo who became angry got up and went out and it took some effort to bring her back to the stage.
It an individual's right to acknowledge, stand up and accord respect to any one. Even God cannot demand respect. It was Khushoo's right to have continued sitting. At the same time, having acknowledged him, it was unnecessary to have pointed it out in her speech. In the same vein, it was dictatorial on the part of Arivumadhi to have demanded it of Khushboo.
It was any way a good spectacle to the audience!
