When directing films, they are gentlemen, but the minute they turn actors, there's an image change. As a director, Ameer gave quality films like 'Mounam Pesiyadhe,' Ram and 'Paruthiveeran.' But in his debut film as actor, he sings "nee oru mollamaari, naanoru mudichiviki..."
Story, screenplay, dialogue and acting are by Ameer in ' Yogi ' The director is Balasubramaniam. Ameer does a rough and tough character and his heroine is a 15 year old girl.
Ameer has also sung a song that is reminiscent of songs in MGR's film 'Chakravarthy Thirumagal' and Sivaji Ganesan's 'Navarathri.' That song is the one cited above. Because of the pure Tamil title, the film will also get tax concessions. Long live Tamil!
The hunt is on for a heroine. Whether it comes through or not, the shooting is scheduled to start on October 15.
