“I have seen Rang De Basanti six times,” squealed Kareena Kapoor in a Mumbai tabloid today. She further added, “I am a huge Aamir Khan fan. I have seen all his films, read all his interviews.” In fact Aamir is his next co-star in Mani Rathnam’s ‘Lajjo’ which starts in another three months. Strange are the ways of Bollywood. Till a few months ago, Kareena was cross with Khan for nixing Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Mr Mehta and Mrs Singh’ at the last moment (Kapoor was to play ‘Mrs Singh’) and now that she has got an opportunity to work with him again (And that too in a Mani Rathnam film) she is singing praises like a canary having had its fill of the coveted nectar.
The fact remains that Kareena Kapoor the star as well as the actor is having the best time of her life. She has won acclaim for her deglam role in ‘Omkara’ and also has had a hit in ‘36 China Town’ this year. Personally she is very pleased with her love life with beau Shahid Kapoor. Both are giving precedence to a ‘Good Script’ over volume of work. They plan to go on a holiday every month and discover all the things that they missed during the hectic shooting schedules. And in December she starts work on ‘Lajjo’, a project that may turn out to be her biggest cine ticket till date. This Kapoor is setting her priorities right. Let’s hope she lives up to the promises that she’s made to herself.
