Your first crush...
My first crush… I don’t think I’ve had a first crush actually. When I was in school I was never really interested in boys and was very into sports and extra curricular activities.
It was an all-girls school. I didn't do college. I started working when I was fifteen.
Your first date...
My first date was when I was about 15 or 16 and we went for a movie. I think it was DDLJ or some Hindi movie. And it was nothing really we just sat quietly, and watched the movie.
The movie was good. I ate lots of popcorn. First kiss was a little later. Movies are ideally not the place for a first kiss.
It’s better to have a first kiss in a more intimate setting.
Your idea of a perfect date...
I don’t have a prototype perfect date. If you’re with someone then anything you do with that person is almost perfect. I don't have this cliched view of a romantic drive. I mean its nice to dress up and go out to dinner but even if you're at home with a movie and a DVD, anything with someone you love turns out into a perfect date.
What was your first relationship like?
It was very young and innocent and first flush of romance. It was immature and sweet but nothing that left a mark. Most of my relationships have ended on a decent note so I’m happy about that.
It wasn’t serious or intense. Its more about being excited about the fact that you’e in a relationship. A first tryst with the opposite sex.
What do you think about lust versus love?
They’re equally important. It needs to be in balance. You can do either but that isn't tantamount to something that's balanced. Finding this balance is rare.
The more I fall in love with a person the more my physical attraction towards him increases. It has to be a mind and emotional connection. More the love, the more the lust.
What is romance to you?
Romance is very important and I love to be romantic. Romance is in a sentence, a look, a gesture. Its very broad based.
I don’t think cliched gestures are necessarily romantic. Sure, getting dressed up and going out for a romantic dinner is fine, but if its with someone you love, that’s romantic.
Who’d you like to get dirty with on an island?
My boyfriend, of course!
Do you believe in the institution of marriage?
Oh I certainly do believe in it. But I don’t believe that one should get married just for the sake of getting married. A person should tie the knot only when she or he is ready and is with the right person.
What do you think of infidelity?
I don’t condone infidelity. But I’m not judgmental either.
What goes on between a man and a woman is something only the two of them can understand.
